The O'Brien & Gere Cos. plans to move its headquarters from the suburban office park it developed 17 years ago to a new, environmentally-friendly building in the heart of Syracuse's downtown. The move will bring 330 scientists, engineers and support staff to the $28 million to $30 million Class A office building being built by Pioneer Companies on two lots near Armory Square. O'Brien and Gere's headquarters will occupy approximately 67,500 square feet in the building on the south corner of West Washington and Franklin streets. Washington Station is expected to include 126,837 square feet of space in total. The building has been LEED-certified by the U.S. Green Building Council and will contain state-of-the-art energy and water management technologies. Washington Station is located within a designated Empire Zone. |
